Vipep actively participates in international trade promotion activities in Muslim markets.
Halal is not simply related to alcohol-free products, pork or pork products, and slaughtering according to Islamic rituals. The scope of Halal is broader, emphasizing the purity of products closest to their natural state.
To penetrate deeply and expand market share in the Halal market, businesses must be proactive and take steps to prepare from the beginning to achieve Halal certification, significantly improving product quality.
Currently, Vietnamese businesses have not taken advantage of the opportunity to exploit the potential of Halal market effectively. This market is relatively new to businesses, and not many Vietnamese people and businesses know about Halal.
One of the pioneering enterprises, standardizing the process and product quality to achieve international certifications, is Viet Pepper Joint Stock Company (Vipep), with spice products from pepper, star anise, cinnamon, chili, garlic, cloves...
Le Thi Hoai Thuong, Director of Vipep, said that currently, the enterprise's products and factories have met organic standards, Halal, HACCP, and BRC certificates... and have exported to 16 markets such as Europe, America, Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia...
"The Halal market is very potential. There are many Muslims scattered everywhere, not only in the United Arab Emirates but also in Vietnam. Therefore, we have focused on obtaining Halal certificates to serve this customer segment. We aim to sell to end consumers so we do not miss any market. Thereby, we spread the risk, do not focus on one market but only focus on quality product quantity," said Le Thi Hoai Thuong, adding that the company focuses on participating in international trade promotion programs in Dubai, Malaysia, and Indonesia to expand its market share in Halal markets.
However, Hoai Thuong also hopes that the ministries and departments will support finding a contact point when participating in international trade promotion fairs to connect with buyers in the Halal market, shorten time and costs, and bring trade efficiency to the company.

With many processed lemon products exported to many countries worldwide, Chanh Viet Trading and Investment Joint Stock Company (Long An) is one of the few enterprises specializing in lemons that meet GlobalGAP, Halal, HACCP, and FDA standards...
Nguyen Van Hien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chanh Viet Trading and Investment Joint Stock Company (Long An), said that the Middle East market has a high demand for lemon products. In particular, about 60 - 70% of Vietnamese lemons are currently exported to the Middle East.
"Halal market is a very large market for processed Vietnamese lemon products. This is a large market for Vietnamese agricultural products.
We have just begun to penetrate the Halal market in Malaysia. In the next 3 years, we are expected to focus on penetrating the Middle East market. However, quality is still the decisive factor", Nguyen Van Hien shared.
In recent years, Halal market has become familiar to many Vietnamese businesses.
Halal market potential is enormous, with a projected population of 2.18 billion by 2030, accounting for about 30% of the world's population. The market size is forecast to reach a maximum of USD 3.2 trillion by 2025, with an annual growth rate of about 6.2%.
Halal products include almost all essential life products, such as food, beverages, organic foods, functional foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, textiles, and handicrafts, and service sectors such as banking, tourism, security, education and training, catering services, hotels, and logistics.
The Halal product consumption market is distributed worldwide, from Muslim to non-Muslim countries, from developed to developing economies, because Halal products meet many criteria on food hygiene and safety, ensuring health, quality, green, clean, ethical processing and contributing to environmental protection...
To penetrate deeply and expand market share in the Halal market, businesses must be proactive and take steps to prepare from the beginning to achieve Halal certification, significantly improving product quality.
According to Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hang, Marketing Director, Halal Certification Office, choosing a reputable and internationally recognized Halal certification organization is something that businesses need to pay attention to in order to help their products create prestige, enhance the brand position, and be readily accepted in Muslim markets, avoiding wasting time and money.
