Hai Phong approves US$ 19 million food processing factory

Hai Phong’s authority agreed to the investment policy of the complex project of food processing factory in Hung Nhan commune, Vinh Bao district.

Late on March 8, the Standing Committee of Hai Phong City Party Committee agreed to the investment policy of a complex project of preliminary processing, processing and preservation of agricultural products and foods in Hung Nhan commune, Vinh Bao district.

This approval followed the proposal of the Municipal People's Party Committee.

The project covers an area of ​​8ha with total investment of nearly VND 437 billion (US$ 18.8 million). The site clearance is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021 and the construction work to be finished in the third quarter of 2023. The factory is slated to be put into operation in the last quarter of 2023 with an expected capacity of about 24,000 tons/year.

The factory is engaged in preliminary processing, processing and preservation of agricultural products and foodstuffs in An Hoa, Thanh Luong, Dong Minh communes, Vinh Bao district, with the initial production area of 200ha hired from farming households and then being expanded to 300-500ha.

The project is expected to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector of Vinh Bao district and Hai Phong City, increasing value of products and raising the income of local people, contributing to the successful implementation of the national target programme “Build a new countryside”.
