Green Economy Forum and Exhibition 2024 will occur in Ho Chi Minh City

At a working session with Mr. Phan Van Mai, the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, on the afternoon of June 11, Mr. Dominik Meichle, Chairman of the European Business Association in Vietnam (EuroCham), said that the Green Economy Forum and Exhibition (GEFE) 2024 is expected to take place from October 21 to 23, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Activities include policy dialogues, international conferences, exhibitions, student programs, receptions, etc.

The new feature of this year's program is to bring more European countries to the GEFE event, such as the presence of England and Sweden..., attracting many guests and investors to attend. In addition, the program also expands participation for Vietnamese companies and designs many practical activities for students.

Workshops on green growth, renewable energy, and energy saving have played a significant role in GEFE's activities in recent years. One of the highlights of GEFE is the student exchange festival, which helps students update their knowledge about hot global issues and participate in creating solutions.

Besides, there is a job fair for exchanges between businesses and students.

The President of EuroCham looks forward to Ho Chi Minh City leaders' attention, support, and participation in the event's activities.

Chairman Phan Van Mai said that Ho Chi Minh City is not only the place to host the event but will benefit from the knowledge and information about the green economy brought by the international community. Therefore, the city is ready to accompany EuroCham in preparing and successfully organizing the GEFE 2024 event.

2024 is the second time GEFE has chosen Ho Chi Minh City to organize after the first time in 2022 to support Vietnam in achieving its commitments at COP26 and socio-economic development goals.

At the meeting, the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Phan Van Mai, congratulated Mr. Dominik Meichle on being elected President of EuroCham, and highly appreciated EuroCham's activities contributing to strengthening economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Vietnam. Europe.

Ho Chi Minh City leaders also expect that with more than 1,400 members in Vietnam, EuroCham will have more connection activities and support for small and medium enterprises, contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the region of the South in general, especially in terms of green growth.

At the same time, he affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City and southern localities will do their best to create favorable conditions for European investors to continue investing and doing business.

Mr. Dominik Meichle, managing director of Bosch Vietnam, was appointed President of EuroCham in March 2024.

Mr. Meichle succeeds Mr. Gabor Fluit, whose presidency was marked by a significant increase in EuroCham membership and increased advocacy. When appointed as CEO of Bosch Vietnam in 2022, Mr. Dominik Meichle, 36 years old, is the youngest CEO of Bosch Vietnam since its establishment.
