Ninh Thuan Province's Agricultural Extension Center is responsible for implementing the model in the marine area of Region C, Dong Hai Ward, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City from 2024 to 2026 (along with a similar model in Khanh Hoa province).

The cage farming model in Ninh Thuan Province, which spans a total of 480 cubic meters (with each cage measuring 80 cubic meters in volume), features three participating households. Accordingly, the model aims to develop HDPE cage-based mariculture in order to enhance efficiency and promote the sustainable development of mariculture. Ultimately, it aims to gradually facilitate occupational transitions and prevent illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities.

Le Quoc Thanh, General Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center, noted that the model in Ninh Thuan Province has yielded exceptional results by producing distinctive products that utilize the local potential and advantages. Additionally, the model highlights Ninh Thuan's agricultural development strategy, which focuses on sustainable, value-chain-based production and climate resilience.

General Director Le Quoc Thanh also requested stakeholders in Ninh Thuan's agricultural sector to create a favorable environment for agricultural extension activities. Namely, he suggested the province improve communication efforts and organize study tours to disseminate farming and processing techniques. Consequently, the province should aim to successfully replicate these agricultural extension models. General Director Thanh also emphasized the formation of cooperatives to share production experiences and develop product branding in association with market linkages.
