On the morning of January 5, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh led the delegation to inspect the production areas at Ham Rong Cooperative, Pleiku City (Gia Lai), the pineapple material area of Devoco Gia Lai Company in association with the people and Coffee nursery of Tropical Forestry Center in Gia Lai. The Ham Rong cooperative is supported by the VnSAT project to build a high-quality coffee model associated with Vinh Hiep Co., Ltd. to export to European countries.
Then, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh and the delegation inspected the pineapple raw material production area of Dong Giao Export Joint Stock Company (Devoco Gia Lai) associated with farmers in Ia Pet commune, Dak Doa district (Gia Lai province).
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh highly appreciated the joint model of pineapple cultivation of Devoco Gia Lai Company and people in Ia Pet commune, Dak Doa district, for high productivity and quality. Since then, the company has helped form a significant and sustainable raw material production area in Gia Lai province.
Devoco Gia Lai has about 4,000 hectares of raw material areas, of which the company's planting area is 1,500 hectares, associated with people is 2,500 hectares. All the above materials are brought to the company's processing plant with a total capacity of 52,000 tonnes located in Dak Doa district.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh met Mr. Hoang Van Noi (living in Ia Pet commune, Dak Doa district), a household associated with growing pineapples with Devoco Gia Lai Company. Every year, Mr. Noi's family earns more than VND 100 million from the model of linking pineapple cultivation with Devoco Gia Lai.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh visited the 6,000 m2 net house and greenhouse of the Center for Tropical Forestry in Gia Lai under the Central Highlands Institute of Agriculture and Forestry during the business trip. The Center for Tropical Forestry is supported by the VnSAT project to improve the productivity of coffee seed production.
Here, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh asked the units to speed up the progress and soon put the net houses and greenhouses to produce quality seeds to serve the restructuring of the coffee industry in the area.
The Deputy Minister hopes that the coffee varieties that the nursery of the Center for Tropical Forestry is cultivating will provide good seeds for sustainable agricultural development.
Previously, on January 4, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh checked the progress of road implementation that the VnSAT project supporting the Central Highlands Agro-Forestry Science Institute implemented in the production area.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh also examined the coffee varieties that the Central Highlands Agro-Forestry Science Institute had bred in recent years. The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the Institute's types for high productivity and adaptation to climate change.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh asked the Central Highlands Agro-Forestry Science Institute to put new varieties on the market soon for people to put into production, thereby improving the quality of replanting and the quality of Vietnam's coffee.
