Cuu Long University met with Korean partners on the morning of October 21.

The university is focusing on the development of its Faculty of Agriculture, with the goal of training high-quality human resources for the Mekong Delta region. As part of this effort, a delegation from Cuu Long University traveled to Korea to meet with two prominent Korean companies, Global Eco Technology and V&C Agricultural Corp.

The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including Hoang Trung Nam, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea; Nguyen Thanh The, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; and Nguyen Van Liet, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee. During the meeting, Cuu Long University shared its research achievements and discussed the application of agricultural technologies with its Korean partners.

One key area of interest for Cuu Long University is innovative technology for treating saline soil and improving soil quality for cultivation. This cutting-edge method can nearly eliminate soil salinity within 42 days, boost soil nutrients, and create ideal conditions for crop growth without the use of chemical fertilizers. In addition to improving yields, the technology helps restore the natural fertility of the soil.

With this new technology transferred from South Korea, Cuu Long University plans to implement a pilot project in the university’s Agricultural Experimental Area, located in Long Ho district, Vinh Long province. As part of the visit, the university delegation toured a saline-free soil treatment area in South Korea.

The cooperation also extends to the research and production of Cordyceps, leveraging a diverse genetic pool of 1,000 strains. Cuu Long University will initially establish a Smart Farm network in Vinh Long to incorporate advanced Korean farming techniques.

This partnership with Korea presents a valuable opportunity for Cuu Long University’s agricultural students to gain practical experience and knowledge in organic farming practices that meet international standards.
