Cuu Long University met with Korean partners on the morning of October 21.
The university is focusing on the development of its Faculty of Agriculture, with the goal of training high-quality human resources for the Mekong Delta region. As part of this effort, a delegation from Cuu Long University traveled to Korea to meet with two prominent Korean companies, Global Eco Technology and V&C Agricultural Corp.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including Hoang Trung Nam, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea; Nguyen Thanh The, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; and Nguyen Van Liet, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee. During the meeting, Cuu Long University shared its research achievements and discussed the application of agricultural technologies with its Korean partners.
One key area of interest for Cuu Long University is innovative technology for treating saline soil and improving soil quality for cultivation. This cutting-edge method can nearly eliminate soil salinity within 42 days, boost soil nutrients, and create ideal conditions for crop growth without the use of chemical fertilizers. In addition to improving yields, the technology helps restore the natural fertility of the soil.
With this new technology transferred from South Korea, Cuu Long University plans to implement a pilot project in the university’s Agricultural Experimental Area, located in Long Ho district, Vinh Long province. As part of the visit, the university delegation toured a saline-free soil treatment area in South Korea.

The cooperation also extends to the research and production of Cordyceps, leveraging a diverse genetic pool of 1,000 strains. Cuu Long University will initially establish a Smart Farm network in Vinh Long to incorporate advanced Korean farming techniques.
This partnership with Korea presents a valuable opportunity for Cuu Long University’s agricultural students to gain practical experience and knowledge in organic farming practices that meet international standards.

(VAN) To make South-South cooperation truly effective, it is time to move beyond a narrow focus on technical transfer and adopt a long-term, systemic, and field-oriented approach.
(VAN) What Tuyen Quang’s agricultural sector seeks is not merely investment, but also large-scale production zones, modern value chains and greater opportunities for farmers to prosper.
(VAN) As packaging collection and recycling regulations take effect, companies that prepare early gain an advantage by turning compliance into economic value.
(VAN) Microplastics are accumulating in dense concentrations along the bed of the To Lich River, pressing Hanoi to consider long-term monitoring programs and pollution control measures targeting contamination at its source.
(VAN) Agricultural by-products such as rice husks and sugarcane bagasse, once regarded as waste, are now being recycled by Vietnamese businesses into environmentally friendly products for export to global markets.
(VAN) Under mounting pressure to control pesticide residues, a growing number of durian growers are turning to biological solutions to improve fruit quality and meet export market requirements.
(VAN) Africa is not seeking cutting-edge technologies or large-scale models, but suitable solutions to natural, economic and social conditions.
