Related organizations and individuals expecting to export pomelo to the US must complete the registration dossier and send it to the PPD before May 10, 2022.
On March 31, the PPD sent a document to the Departments of MARD in provinces and cities, the Vietnam Fruit Association and organizations and individuals producing and exporting fresh fruit on consulting the Export Plan of pomelo export to the US.
Accordingly, after many technical negotiations and exchanges, the Plant Protection Department (PPD) and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) have completed the draft for “Export Plan on Plant quarantine requirements for pomelos exported from Vietnam to the US”.
The US made a number of requirements on plant quarantine for pomelos.
To create favorable conditions for Vietnam's pomelo export to the US in the upcoming future, the PPD has issued a number of requirements.
First of all, localities, associations, organizations and individuals producing and exporting pomelos to the US need to carefully study and provide comments on this draft. Please send comments and suggestions to the PPD (International Cooperation & Communication Department, phone number: 024.3857.0754; email: htqt.bvtv@mard.gov.vn) before April 10, 2022.
After that, the provincial Departments of MARD will direct the Sub-Departments of Cultivation and Plant Protection to review pomelo growing areas, simultaneously, guide relevant organizations and individuals expecting to export pomelo to the US to complete the registration dossier and send it to the PPD before May 10, 2022.
The document of PPD also provides additional information. If beyond the mentioned time, the unit consulted made no response, it will be considered as agreeing with the draft of the Export Plan.
