Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that to strengthen connectivity and develop agricultural production, Can Tho has proposed the Ministry of Construction support and guide procedures to set up a Center to link production, processing and consumption of agro-products in the locality. At the same time, with the upgrading and expansion of the International Airport, this city will attract and connect economic development areas in the Mekong Delta.
Moreover, Can Tho City also proposed the project "Connecting the Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho Railway and Investing in the Construction of an elevated expressway". They hope that this project will create a modern, synchronous infrastructure and improve the quality of life for the community.
Recently, leaders of Can Tho city have proposed to the Ministry of Planning and Investment to submit to the Government for the policy of implementing the O Mon bridge project. This is to connect Sa Dec City, Dong Thap province with O Mon district, Can Tho City and Giong Rieng district, Kien Giang province. This important project will support the synchronization of the entire route and connect economic development areas in the Mekong Delta.
Can Tho City is welcoming an economic breakthrough and connecting the Mekong Delta region. With the proposed key projects, the city hopes to soon achieve its vision by 2045 and bring great benefits to both the locality and the Mekong Delta.
Accordingly, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 45/2022/QH15 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for Can Tho City to concentrate all resources and makes breakthroughs for rapid and sustainable development. Can Tho's vision by 2045 deserve the position and potential of the nuclear city in the Mekong Delta.
