Businesses talk about the 'key' for Vietnam fruits in US market

(VAN) 'Vietnamese fruit is delicious, but the most difficult thing to succeed in the US is quality', said Ms Amy Nguyen, a US fruit distributor representative.

On April 9 in Hanoi, Klever Fruit - the number 1 brand of imported fruit retail chain currently in the Vietnamese market held the event "Symphony of White and Red".

At this event, Klever Fruit welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Washington state (USA). Ms. Rianne Ham, Director of International Marketing for the Washington State Department of Agriculture led the delegation attending the event with the presence of import-export businesses and reputable garden owners in Washington state.

The "Symphony of White and Red" event did not end as a working visit by the delegation of the Washington State Department of Agriculture, it is also a bridge between the land that produces premium fruits in Washington and Vietnamese consumers. This is an important milestone that strengthens the cooperative relationship between Klever Fruit and Washington State and is also the motivation for Klever Fruit and Washington State to continue bringing to the Vietnamese market even more premium and perfect products.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hai, General Director of Klever Fruit shared: "Klever Fruit is the pioneer company in Vietnam to import official Washington fruits. The Washington region with favorable natural conditions and advanced agricultural technology has created many delicious fresh fruits that meet food safety standards beyond expectations".

According to Mr. Hai, Washington state fruit is fresh and delicious, meeting food safety standards. Therefore, it has gradually become an indispensable fruit in the consumption habits of Vietnamese consumers, especially young consumers.

Ms. Rianne Ham, Director of International Marketing for the Washington State Department of Agriculture said: “The cooperative relationship between Washington and Klever Fruit is increasingly perfected because Klever Fruit is known as a brand that provides high-quality imported fruits, focusing on quality and food safety. These are also the things that make Washington state fruits famous".

Through Klever Fruit, export businesses, garden owners, and fruit growers in Washington state wish to expand Washington state fruit closer to consumers in the Vietnamese market.

On the contrary, to promote Vietnamese fruit exports to Washington state in particular and the US market in general, on the sidelines of the event, Ms. Amy Nguyen (Dragonberry Produce Company) - a fruit distributor in the US said: “I went from North to South and saw Vietnamese agricultural products in general and Vietnamese fruits in particular. If we want to conquer Washington state and the US market, we must reorganize production facilities to meet GlobalGAP standards and limit pesticide spraying...".

“We often say the US market is difficult, but that's really not the case. The fastidious here must understand that they require products to be safe, ensuring quality for consumers", Ms. Amy Nguyen emphasized.

Ms Amy Nguyen gave advice: Vietnamese agricultural products in general, and Vietnamese fruits in particular, want to export large quantities and be successful in the US market, so the most important thing is to ensure quality and safety. We must ensure good quality for consumers as well as for our own use, only then can we be successful.

It is known that Dragonberry Produce currently imports 2-3 containers of dragon fruit every week into the US. Ms. Amy Nguyen said that the company is also evaluating the quality of lychees to export more of this fruit.

“The potential for exporting Vietnamese fruit to the US is still very large. Vietnamese fruits are delicious, such as excellent lychees. However, to succeed in the US market, the biggest difficulty is still the issue of quality assurance", Ms. Amy Nguyen emphasized.
