Binh Dinh’s traditional rice paper to exported to S. Korea, Singapore

Sachi Nguyen Traditional Rice Paper Company, producer of the traditional rice paper, signed on April 1 two exclusive contracts to export the traditional rice paper to South Korea and Singapore.

Nguyen Huu Vinh, Director of Sachi Nguyen Traditional Rice Paper Company in Tam Quan Ward, Hoai Nhon Town, Binh Dinh province, said that the company recently exported a shipment of more than 200 boxes of traditional coconut-milk rice paper and other types of rice paper to Taiwan market.

This is the beginning of the recent co-operation between the company and its Taiwanese partner on March 20, 2021 through the e-commerce platform Alibaba.

The shipment, including coconut-milk rice paper, sesame rice paper and seaweed rice paper, was packaged into a 20-foot container for export via Cat Lai Port in Ho Chi Minh City.

The shipment reportedly left the port on April 7, 2021.

After the shipment, 200 boxes of traditional rice paper of Binh Dinh Province would be exported to Taiwan each month under the agreement between the two sides.

The forerunner of Sachi Nguyen Traditional Rice Paper Company is a producer named Sau Chien with over 25 years' experiences in the production of traditional rice paper in Binh Dinh Province.

Currently, all types of rice paper of the company have meet the food hygiene and safety standards and certified with ISO 22000: 2018.

ISO 22000:2018 creates a single food safety standard that harmonizes the various national standards into one easy-to-understand set of requirements that are simple to apply and recognized around the world. This internationally recognized food safety standard can be used by all organizations in the food supply chain from farming to food services, processing, transportation and storage through packaging to retail.

The rice paper is also One-Commune-One-Product (OCOP)'s product, achieving 4-star quality certification. It is also the typical rural product at provincial level in 2020.
