Through inspection, the authorities had discovered that the vehicle was transporting tiger individuals.
On August 1st, Dien Chau Traffic Police Station, under the Nghe An Provincial Police Department, confirmed that the unit had just coordinated with the Environmental Police Department to detect and arrest a transportation case of seven Indochinese tiger individuals from Ha Tinh to Nghe An for consumption.
Accordingly, at about 2 a.m. on the same day, Team 3 (Environmental Police Department) received a report that a white 7-seated car, license plate 37A-032.58, was transporting wild animals from the Huong Son town, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province to Nghe An.
Receiving the information above, the Environmental Police Department had coordinated with Dien Chau Traffic Police Station to conduct inspection and verification. At 4 a.m. on the same day, the task force at km 421+200 of National Highway 1A, in the area of Dien Ky commune, Dien Chau district had discovered the car with the described characteristics which were circulating in the South - North direction.
Immediately, the specialized unit signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection. However, the driver did not obey the order and deliberately drove away. By professional measures, after the pursuit, the working group successfully restrained and arrested 2 subjects. Upon conducting the inspection, the discovered exhibits were seven tiger individuals.

Initially, the identities of the two subjects were confirmed as Tran Trung Hieu (born in 1984, driver, residing in residential group 3, Tay Son town, Huong Son district) and Nguyen Van Lai (born in 1967, residing in Khi Tuong village, Son Tay commune, Huong Son district).
The case is being investigated and clarified by Nghe An Provincial Police.
