2023 is considered a difficult year for the agricultural industry in general and shrimp in particular, with both objective and subjective factors.
The shrimp industry has faced many difficulties, from adverse weather conditions, high input material prices, and disease outbreaks while commercial shrimp selling prices are not high. There was a time when the price decline reached the bottom, causing many farming areas to be "suspended". Exports are not very prosperous when most main markets have dropped sharply by double digits, making future forecasts uncertain.
According to data from the Department of Fisheries (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), in 2023, the shrimp farming area will basically not increase compared to the previous year, estimated at about 737,000 ha, output reached 1.12 million tons; the total export turnover is about $ 3.45 billion, down 21% over the same period in 2022.
With understanding and sharing, VietShrimp 2024 with the theme "Accompanying shrimp farmers" continues to be a great forum for managers, experts, businesses and farmers to sit down and find effective solutions for Vietnamese shrimp to successfully overcome difficulties, regain growth momentum and record new records.

The return of VietShrimp for the 5th time in 2024 is in line with the rapid development and change of the digital technology age, of global science and technology. It is also the aspiration of many businesses and farmers, especially in the context of needing more initiatives and ideas for the shrimp industry to develop truly effectively and sustainably.
