Vietnam Water Week 2023: Water for quality of life and sustainable development

On September 14, Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) organized a press conference to introduce Vietnam Water Week 2023.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, Vietnam Water Week 2023 will be held from September 28 to 30 at the World Trade Center of Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong (WTC EXPO). Vietnam Advertisement and Fair Exhibition Joint Stock Company (Vietfair) and Binh Duong Water - Environment Corporation JSC (BIWASE) will be the event’s co-organizers.

At the press conference, Nguyen Ngoc Diep, Chairman of VWSA, informed that Vietnam Water Week 2023 will be will be a regional and international forum. Policy makers, organizations, and enterprises manufacturing and distributing equipment and machinery will be able to exchange, approach, introduce and transfer advanced technologies in the field of water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment in Vietnam and the world. This is also an opportunity for parties to discuss and learn from experiences in policy institutions, corporate governance, smart technology, new scientific and technological advances in the water industry.

“Through Vietnam Water Week 2023, the government and people will understand more about the difficulties of the water industry, inadequacies in life, production and business when it comes to water supply and drainage. And from that we shall support and develop appropriate policies, promoting the water industry to become a sustainable economic sector, contributing to the country's socio-economic development,” said Chairman Diep.

Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Chairman of VWSA, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIWASE, believed that Binh Duong has many favorable conditions in terms of facilities and infrastructure to organize this event. Binh Duong is also a province well-known for its hospitality, openly welcoming investors right from the first days, which soon resulted in many successes.

Vietnam Water Week 2023 held in Binh Duong will be a dynamic gathering of scientists in many fields such as water treatment, equipment and supplies, economic management, and urban infrastructure management, together sitting down to evaluate the future difficulties and complications for the water industry in the context that climate change has been showing unpredictable developments.

“Social and economic development has left behind a large amount of wastewater in urban areas, polluting rivers and streams. This is a serious threat to water resources. The water industry is currently facing many such challenges, so overcoming all obstacles to organize Vietnam Water Week 2023 in Binh Duong is of great significance, carving a path of finding solutions to promote sustainable development for the water industry," Vice Chairman Thien said.

Providing more information about Vietnam Water Week 2023, Deputy General Director of VietFair Pham Quang Minh said that the event will have 2 main event chains, including international seminars and exhibitions.

The international seminars focus on several topics: draft law on water supply and drainage; drainage and wastewater treatment for public health and the environment; solutions to adapt to climate change for the water industry; science and technology and training to improve the capacity of Vietnam's water industry.

Apart from the seminar, the Water and Environment Industry Product and Technology Exhibition will attract nearly 200 booths displaying advanced equipment and technology from 15 countries and territories with developed water industries such as Australia, Finland, Germany, Japan, Korea, and the USA. Vietnam Water Week 2023 aims to create a space for domestic and international businesses as well as material and equipment suppliers to introduce advanced solutions and technologies, promote brands, thereby reaching potential customers and finding opportunities to expand cooperation and trade promotion.
