TH earns carbon-neutral certification for 11 dairy and beverage products

(VAN) Control Union has confirmed that 11 TH dairy and beverage products have achieved carbon-neutral status under ISO 14068-1:2023.

11 of the products include seven from the TH true NUT, three from TH true OAT, and one TH true MILK TOPKID Organic (TOPKID Organic Natural Vanilla Fresh Milk 180 ml).

These all are manufactured at the TH true MILK Fresh Milk Processing Plant, which is one of two TH Group subsidiaries that have achieved carbon neutrality since 2023 and 2024, respectively, and are committed to maintaining carbon neutrality in the coming years, with a goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.

Applying international standards for carbon footprint transparency across the value hain

According to TH, all 11 products achieved carbon neutrality for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2024, with a commitment to maintain carbon neutrality in the subsequent one. The assessment covers the value chain from raw material inputs to the factory gate (cradle-to-gate).

It covers key emission sources across the value chain, including raw materials, farm operations, manufacturing, packaging, inbound transportation, and energy use at the plant.

The certification for 11 products reflects TH’s efforts to apply international standards for carbon footprint transparency across its production value chain. TH has implemented measures to reduce emissions from production, optimize energy use, improve operational efficiency, and progressively manage emissions across its supply chain.

Specifically, TH has implemented a range of emissions-reduction measures across its farms and plants, including reducing methane emissions from livestock farming, waste management, expanding the use of solar power, optimizing plant operations, implementing an energy management system under ISO 50001:2018, transitioning to electric-powered equipment, using environmentally friendly packaging, and increasing tree and vegetation cover. At the same time, TH is driving emissions reductions across its supply chain by prioritizing local materials and working with low-emission suppliers.

TH is also helping consumers better understand what makes a quality product. Today, consumers look beyond taste, cleanliness, safety and health benefits, but are also increasingly choosing products made through environmentally conscious processes.

Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy, TH Group’s Director of Sustainability Development, said: “These are TH’s distinctive products. Through life-cycle assessments, we have identified pathways for reducing greenhouse gas emissions as we work toward Net Zero.”

They represent growing trends toward healthier consumption, including balanced nutrition combined with nuts and oat-based beverages suited to greener lifestyles, and also organic, all-natural nutritional products for children.

Through these products, TH also aims to promote responsible consumption among consumers who care about health, the environment and quality of life, while helping foster a commitment to sustainable development among future generations.

Staying loyal to the philosophy of “Cherishing Mother Nature” and building a green value chain

This certification is particularly significant as Viet Nam promotes policies to encourage businesses to measure, make public and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Since early 2026, the Department of Climate Change under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has been piloting a voluntary carbon labeling program to encourage businesses to disclose the carbon footprints of their products, gradually foster a green consumer market, and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in international markets.

TH is among the businesses taking a proactive approach to this direction. The company has conducted carbon footprint assessments, achieved carbon neutrality for our products under ISO 14068-1:2023, and received validation from an international certification body.

For TH, this is another milestone in the pursuit of the “Cherishing Mother Nature” philosophy as well as in its journey toward building a green value chain. This value chain is reflected in its “from the pasture to the glass of milk” production model, international quality management standards, and ongoing efforts to improve energy efficiency, develop renewable energy, manage resources and reduce emissions across the supply chain.

Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy said that in the next phase, TH will continue to maintain its system for measuring, reducing and managing emissions, while expanding emissions-reduction initiatives across its plants, farms and supply chain, with the continued goal of certifying and explicitly labelling carbon-neutral products. Our ultimate goal is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
