Tetra Pak's 30 years in Vietnam's food and beverage industry

This event marks 30 years of continuous efforts to fulfil commitments to food safety, sustainable development, and innovation in the food and beverage industry.

With the mission of “Protecting Good Quality: Food, People, and the Planet,” the company persistently aims for a sustainable future, providing safe and quality food, promoting collaboration in the industry, and leading sustainable transformations that benefit communities and the environment.

To commemorate this special milestone, Tetra Pak Vietnam organized the event “30th Anniversary Celebration of Tetra Pak Vietnam: A Beautiful Journey,” featuring participation from top F&B companies in Vietnam, representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province, the Consulate General of Sweden in Ho Chi Minh City, the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (NORDCHAM), the Vietnam Dairy Association (VDA), and the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Organization (PRO Vietnam).

The event emphasized the importance of collaboration and explored the potential future of Vietnam’s F&B industry, highlighting the modernization of the sector, including the crucial role of ultra-heat treatment technology that has helped provide safe food.

At the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn about advanced global processing technologies that enhance productivity, optimize costs, and increase access to safe food through direct exchanges with experts and interactions with experiments in the company's four strategic areas:

- Providing safe and quality food: Visitors had the chance to understand how the company commits to providing safe food available everywhere for the people of Vietnam and neighbouring areas. They also heard about and viewed the latest packaging solutions that extend shelf life without refrigeration or preservatives.

- Leading sustainable transformation: This exhibition area offered visitors a comprehensive view of sustainable development and how we can collectively overcome major challenges related to food, climate, nature, circular economy, and sustainable society.

- Integrating and optimizing operations: This area introduced solutions that enhance operational efficiency through automation, data analytics, and remote support, helping businesses improve capacity, increase flexibility, and achieve cost efficiency.

- Change and innovation: Experts shared Tetra Pak's innovative approach—how ideas and technologies are transformed into leading solutions. Attendees were provided with an overview of how improvements and new products are created through co-creation processes and were introduced to the Product Development Centers, including Bloom—the Global Innovation Center for the F&B industry located in Binh Duong.

Additionally, experts shared insights about the potential of Tetra Recart® packaging—a more sustainable retortable carton solution for liquid foods—and introduced the Tetra Pak® E3/Speed Hyper canning machine, which boasts the world's fastest production speed of 40,000 cartons per hour while occupying half the space typically required for such machines.

Over the past 30 years, the Vietnamese F&B industry has undergone significant changes, driven by economic growth, urbanization, and shifting consumer preferences. According to Euromonitor, the Vietnamese F&B industry is expected to reach VND 872.9 trillion ($ 34.9 billion) by 2027.
