In the global market, rubber prices today recorded a slight increase compared to yesterday.
At the close of trading on March 26, in Thailand, rubber futures for April 2026 remained unchanged at 75.2 baht/kg. In Japan, April 2026 rubber futures rose by 3.6% (12.5 yen) to 361 yen/kg. In China, April rubber futures increased by 0.2% (30 yuan) to 16,410 yuan/ton.
Rubber futures in Japan rose for the third consecutive session, supported by a weaker yen and a recovery in crude oil prices, along with higher physical rubber prices in Thailand, according to Reuters.
On the Osaka Exchange (OSE), the September 2026 rubber contract increased by 6.5 yen, or 1.77%, to 372.9 yen/kg (about $ 2.34/kg).
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), the May rubber contract rose by 90 yuan, or 0.55%, to 16,460 yuan/ton (about $ 2,385.30/ton). The May butadiene rubber contract on SHFE surged by 740 yuan, or 4.29%, to 17,975 yuan/ton.
On the Singapore Exchange (SICOM), the April rubber contract was traded at 197.1 cents/kg, up 0.2% during the session.
Thailand’s benchmark export rubber prices increased across the board, with RSS3 rising 1.28% to 85.6 baht/kg, while block rubber gained 1.61% to 73.15 baht/kg.
The yen remained at 159.41 JPY/USD, near its weakest level since 2024. A weaker yen makes yen-denominated assets cheaper for foreign buyers, thereby supporting rubber prices.
Crude oil prices also partially recovered after declining in the previous session, as investors reassessed the outlook for easing tensions in the Middle East after Iran stated it is still considering a U.S. proposal to end the conflict.
Rubber prices today, March 27, 2026: Global market rises, domestic market remains stable
The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries noted that Thailand’s output is expected to remain flat in 2026, increasing concerns about supply amid demand that shows no clear signs of weakening.
In contrast to Japan, China’s market recorded more positive developments as rubber contracts on the Shanghai Exchange gained. Notably, butadiene rubber surged to its highest level since listing, indicating relatively strong demand in this market.
Thus, global rubber prices on March 27, 2026 edged up slightly compared to the previous day.
