On the global market, rubber prices maintained their positive momentum.
At the time of the survey, the September 2026 RSS3 contract on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) rose by ¥ 5.7, or 1.26%, to ¥ 457/kg.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s September 2026 rubber futures remained unchanged at THB 87.6/kg. In China, the September 2026 contract edged up by CNY 45, or 0.26%, to CNY 17,560/ton.
Global rubber prices continued to rise in Japan and China today but remained stable in Thailand. The Japanese market maintained strong upward momentum as investors weighed the contrasting effects of weaker oil prices and signs of tightening natural rubber supplies.
According to Reuters, the January rubber contract on the Osaka Exchange (OSE) rose by ¥ 0.9, or 0.21%, to ¥ 439.9/kg. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), the contract for the same delivery month gained 0.62% to CNY 18,610/ton, while the October butadiene rubber contract increased by 1.1% to CNY 14,720/ton.
Oil prices fell by more than $ 1/barrel during the session as investors took profits ahead of possible additional US sanctions against Iran. This development could affect Middle East oil supplies. As natural rubber competes with synthetic rubber derived from crude oil, energy prices often have a significant impact on the rubber market.
Latest domestic and global rubber prices today, August 25, 2026
However, tightening natural rubber supplies are supporting prices. Inventories at SHFE-monitored warehouses fell by 3.3% from the previous week, according to data released on August 21. In Thailand, the world’s largest rubber producer, the meteorological agency warned of heavy rain and flash flood risks from August 27 to 29.
Mr Di Yilin, an analyst at Everbright Futures, said heavy rainfall in key production areas is disrupting rubber tapping and reducing supplies, particularly in northern and northeastern Thailand. In the Thai market, RSS3 prices rose by 0.35%, while block rubber gained 1.05%. On SICOM, part of the Singapore Exchange, the November contract increased by 0.9% to 231.4 US cents/kg, indicating that demand remained firm despite pressure from weaker oil prices.
Thus, global rubber prices continued to rise today, August 25, 2026, compared with yesterday.
In the domestic market, rubber prices remained unchanged from yesterday.
