Que Lam Group develops organic agriculture in Son La Province

Recently, at the office of Que Lam Group in Hue City, Que Lam Group held a conference and signing ceremony for a memorandum of cooperation on supporting the development of organic and circular agriculture and the establishment of Que Lam’s value-chain linkages in Son La Province for period 2026-2030.

Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee and Head of the province’s National Assembly Delegation, said that looking back over the past five years, cooperation among the Son La provincial authorities, Que Lam Group, socio-political organizations and farmers has produced clear results. An organic and circular agriculture ecosystem has gradually taken shape, covering the supply of inputs, transfer of crop and livestock production processes, environmental treatment, processing and marketing. Farmers’ awareness has also gradually shifted from traditional production methods toward a mindset focused on developing green, clean and sustainable agriculture.

“However, Son La still has enormous untapped potential and room for development. That is why the cooperation agreement for the 2026-2030 period was signed, with a more comprehensive scope and aimed at maximizing the combined strength of the entire political system, businesses and the community,” Mr. Nghiem said.

The cooperation agreement focuses not only on expanding cultivated areas but also on achieving comprehensive improvements in quality through four key pillars.

These include continuing to promote communication, training and technical guidance, with experts providing direct support to farmers in adopting professional production methods, applying science and technology, and pursuing digital transformation; developing key product chains covering both crop production and livestock and poultry farming; strengthening linkages among production, preliminary processing, processing and product distribution; and cooperating in the transfer of microbial technologies to thoroughly treat agricultural waste and by-products for reuse as on-site nutrients, with the goal of achieving zero-waste and disease-free production. The parties will also coordinate to develop a project for a 4F organic, circular and ecological agricultural economic complex in Son La when conditions permit.

To turn this vision into reality, the parties agreed on a close coordination mechanism. The Son La Provincial People’s Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to take the lead and establish an inter-sectoral working group to coordinate with Que Lam Group and socio-political organizations in implementing annual action plans.

The Vietnam Circular Agriculture Association and the Vietnam Association of the Elderly play key roles in mobilizing their members, providing experts, advising on and reviewing policies, and developing standardized technical guidance materials.

For its part, Que Lam Group has committed to providing comprehensive support, ranging from technical services, crop and livestock nutrition, and biological products to connecting farmers with markets for their products.

On this occasion, the Son La delegation visited the Que Lam 4F Organic Agriculture and Ecological Circular Economy Complex; a centralized organic waste treatment model in Phong Dien Ward; a value-chain linkage model for organic pig farming among local farmers; and a store showcasing and selling organic agricultural products. The delegation used the visits to learn about the models’ effectiveness in improving productivity and product quality, increasing farmers’ incomes, and promoting sustainable agricultural development.

Currently, Que Lam Group is focusing on developing and harmoniously operating eight organic and circular agriculture ecosystems linked through Que Lam’s distinctive value chains. These include the human ecosystem; the community and political system ecosystem; the science, engineering and technology ecosystem; the crop and livestock nutrition ecosystem; the value-chain linkage ecosystem; the 4F economic complex ecosystem; the Que Lam feng shui, spiritual and cultural ecosystem; and the communications ecosystem.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has directed the selection of Que Lam’s organic and circular agricultural economic development model, linked through value chains, for replication nationwide.
