Over 60 Chinese businesses to connect Viet Nam - China durian supply chain

The program is chaired by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, with Viet Nam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper (VAN News) serving as the media sponsor and co-organizing the event with the Dak Lak Durian Association and relevant agencies and organizations.

The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. on August 19 at the Elephants Buon Ma Thuot Hotel, 142 Phan Chu Trinh Street, Buon Ma Thuot Ward, Dak Lak Province. It will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, with approximately 600 delegates attending in person and around 1,000 connection points nationwide and internationally. Particularly, the program will bring together more than 60 major businesses and corporations from China to participate in supply chain connection, durian processing investment, and export activities.

The program presents a rare opportunity for Vietnamese localities, cooperatives, farm owners, packing facilities, purchasing units, and export businesses to directly connect with Chinese importers, distribution systems, e-commerce platforms, retail chains, packing facilities, quarantine agencies, and logistics providers.

The program also aims to attract investment in high-value-added segments of the value chain, including deep processing, logistics, and the development of a durian and agricultural products trading center in Dak Lak.

The centerpiece of the program will be a discussion and dialogue session bringing together management agencies, businesses, associations, local authorities, and experts from Viet Nam and China. Discussions will focus on solutions to improve quality, build brands, enhance traceability, develop logistics and e-commerce, and establish a sustainable durian supply chain. The session will also address difficulties and obstacles faced by businesses in exporting agricultural products to the Chinese market.

Following the discussion session, the parties will sign memoranda of understanding (MOUs) on cooperation, including business-to-business connections between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises, cooperation between Chinese units and representatives of growing areas, and partnerships between banks and businesses.

Within the framework of the Viet Nam - China Durian Supply Chain Investment and Cooperation Promotion Forum, the exhibition area will showcase several durian products and key agricultural products from Dak Lak while introducing sorting, packaging, traceability, and deep-processing processes and technologies.
