Netherlands proposes $125M waste-to-energy project

Within the framework of a working trip to the Netherlands from June 23 to 24, the Tay Ninh provincial delegation, led by Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet, coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands to organize the Tay Ninh Investment Promotion Conference, attracting a large number of European businesses, investors and economic partners.

Speaking at the conference, Tay Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet emphasized that the Vietnam - Netherlands cooperative relationship is developing deeply and broadly. He also affirmed that Tay Ninh province wishes to expand cooperation with Dutch partners in logistics, supply chain management, high-tech agriculture, the circular economy, clean energy and sustainable development.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Huong Nam assessed that Tay Ninh possesses many advantages to become an attractive destination for Dutch and European investors thanks to its strategic location, increasingly complete infrastructure and green development orientation.

At the conference, Mr. Gabor Fluit, Chairman of the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV), stated that Tay Ninh's appeal comes not only from its location and infrastructure advantages but also from the local government's spirit of companionship and support for businesses.

Within the program's framework, many Dutch enterprises proposed cooperation with Tay Ninh in clean energy, the circular economy, the green economy and high-tech agriculture.

The highlight of the conference was the signing ceremony of important cooperation agreements. Among them, DBAV and the Tay Ninh Provincial Department of Finance signed a memorandum of cooperation to enhance business ties and promote investment. De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group signed an agreement to expand the development of high-tech agricultural chains.

Notably, Harvest Waste Company and the Tay Ninh Provincial Department of Industry and Trade signed a memorandum of understanding to research investment for the European-technology Waste-to-Energy Plant Project, with an estimated total capital of over 125 million USD. The project is expected to contribute to improving waste treatment capacity, developing renewable energy, promoting the circular economy and enhancing environmental quality in the province.

According to the leaders of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, the results achieved at the conference will create an important foundation for the locality to continue boosting investment promotion and expanding cooperation with European partners in the coming time.
