Latest Arabica and Robusta prices on August 18, 2026
Global coffee prices rose across the board today, supported by low inventories and tight spot supplies.
According to Reuters, Arabica prices are recovering and approaching the three-week high reached last week as spot supplies remain limited. ICE-certified Arabica inventories fell to 231,340 bags at the beginning of the week, the lowest level in around 2.75 years. By contrast, ICE Robusta inventories increased to 4,537 lots at the end of last week, the highest level in five months.
The latest data from the European Coffee Federation showed that coffee stocks at port warehouses in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy and Spain totaled 7.37 million bags at the end of June. This was up 3.06% from the previous month but down 6.94% from the same period in 2025. Robusta accounted for 2.98 million bags, natural Arabica for 1.96 million bags and washed Arabica for 2.43 million bags.
Including certified coffee held in approved warehouses and listed on the New York and London exchanges, current reserves would cover only nearly seven weeks of roasting operations. This is equivalent to around half the inventory level generally considered safe for European consumers. Nevertheless, current reserves remain above the record low of 6.40 million bags recorded in March 2024.
Latest domestic and global coffee prices on August 18, 2026
Expert Michael J. Nugent said spot Arabica supplies remain extremely limited, while certified inventories are significantly low. However, he believes the coffee market is no longer in a bullish phase as the long-term supply outlook improves, particularly in Brazil. Demand is also under pressure as consumers shift toward more affordable products.
Meanwhile, Marcelo Fraga Moreira of Archer Consultancy forecast that the December Arabica contract could fall to $ 2.60-2.80/lb as new supplies from Asia begin to increase toward the end of the year.
Thus, global coffee prices rebounded on August 18, 2026, compared with yesterday.
